SEB Star Updates

Hello Stars,

We continue to thank our families for partnering with us and ensuring our students remain safe and healthy. We appreciate all staying home when feeling ill or when family members have tested positive. Kindly continue to screen your children each day using our WCDSB screener: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/

Next week, we draw our attention to two very important priorities, Catholic Education Week and Mental Health Awareness Week.

We are blessed with the opportunity to celebrate the gift of Catholic Education.  This year’s celebration is entitled, “Catholic Education: Rebuild, Restore, Renew Together”/”Rébatir, Rétablir, Renouveler Ensemble”.

The five sub-themes for Catholic Education: Rebuild, Restore, Renew Together are:

Rediscover, Rebuild, Restore, Renew, Rejoice

Through our morning prayers and announcements we will be offering opportunities to discover these themes each day within our classroom and school community.

Staff have compiled activities and presentations to support our classroom celebrations of Catholic Education Week. These will be used within Religion Lessons and integrated across all curriculum areas during the upcoming week.

Reflection Questions:

  • What do you love about your Catholic school?
  • What are some ways we can help others around us?
  • What are you thankful for?
  • What are some of your gifts?
  • How can you use your gifts to help others?
  • How have you seen others use their gifts to help restore, renew and rebuild?

Parents are also welcome to check out https://hamiltondiocese.com/catholic-education-week/ for more resources including a liturgy recorded with his Excellency Bishop Crosby.

We will continue using the hashtag #SentToBuild for Catholic Education Week.

Mental health and well-being remain continuous priorities in our daily work at Sir Edgar Bauer. This week will also draw more attention as our student leadership team creates activities and announcements for us. We will be seeking student input and establishing even more wellness priorities.

Our hope is that our families have time to discuss these two meaningful themes.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
