SEB Star Families,

I simply wanted to take a quick moment to express my personal gratitude to all our amazing families. I have greatly appreciated getting to know many of you and building wonderful connections. I value your support and the advocacy you provide your children every day.

Your notes and emails do not go unnoticed. I visited the classes today to say farewell to our amazing students. I shared the following Dr. Seuss quote with them…

I let them know I will continue to smile and reflect fondly on my SEB Star time. The memories I have from the past four and a half years will carry me through for quite some time. I will certainly miss our incredible students. Remain well Stars!

Hello Stars,

Please welcome Karl Herod to Sir Edgar Bauer. As of Monday, February 6th, Mr. Herod will be the new administrator. Mr. Herod is a retired principal. He worked with WCDSB for many years so has a wealth of experience and expertise.

A reminder for all our families with children in Senior Kindergarten: French Immersion Registration for Grade One in the 2023-2024 school year is now open. See flyer for details. Even if a sibling is currently in FI programming, our SK students still need to apply for the lottery.

Grade 7 Student Opportunity: Spanish Exchange

• Due to the current road conditions, ALL SCHOOL BUSES, TAXIS AND SPECIAL EDUCATION ROUTES operated by the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and Waterloo Region District School Board are cancelled.
• All Public and Catholic Schools are OPEN.
• All Extended Day Childcare Programs are OPEN.
• St. Louis online, daytime, and evening classes are open at all locations.

All field trips scheduled for today are cancelled. If not rescheduled, reimbursements will be made.

SEB Math Night also cancelled for tonight. This will be rescheduled.

Due to the expected snowfall, both our Girls’ Volleyball and Boys’ Basketball games have been cancelled for today. They will be rescheduled for a later date.

Monthly Small Group at St. Michael Parish exploring The Ministry of Motherhood starting Monday, February 13th

Join the Moms Ministry at St. Michael Parish for a regular night of conversation, reflection and connection as we dive into the calling of motherhood.  Together we will read and discuss, The Ministry of Motherhood, uncovering ways to use biblical wisdom and practical teachings, to make a lasting difference in our children’s lives by following the pattern Christ set with his own disciples.

We’ll meet monthly on Monday nights in the Parish Resource Centre (basement):

1. Monday, February 13th at 7:30pm – Part 1: The Gift of Grace
2. Monday, March 6th at 7:30pm (first Monday of the month) – Part 2: The Gift of Inspiration
3. Monday, April 3rd at 7:30pm (first Monday of the month) – Part 3: The Gift of Faith
4. Monday, May 1st at 7:30pm (first Monday of the month) – Part 4: The Gift of Training
5. Monday, June 5th at 7:30pm (first Monday of the month) – Part 5: The Gift of Service

We ask that each participant purchase The Ministry of Motherhood: Following Christ’s Example in Reaching the Hearts of Our Children by Sally Clarkson, and read the section listed for each month in advance of our meeting. The book is available through Chapters (as a paperback or ebook) and Amazon (as a new or used paperback or ebook).  *Note that even if you don’t have an e-reader, you can buy and read the ebook on your phone or tablet by downloading the free Kindle or Kobo app
