Masks for Student Use

Hello Stars,

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Today your child(ren) should have came home with extra masks. The Ministry of Education has provided one black mask and WCDSB has provided three grey masks with the Board logo for every student. The hope is that these are helpful as extra masks when items get misplaced or are being cleaned. They are for your child to keep and use as you feel appropriate. Students are still permitted to wear their usual masks.

Stay well Stars!

SEB Halloween Activities

Hello Stars,

Although we are living in different times, the SEB team is still focused on providing a fun learning environment for our students. Our Halloween activities will look a little different this year.

Thursday, Oct 29th: Black and Orange Day for all students

Friday, Oct 30th: Students are invited to wear safe and comfortable costumes. Masks will obviously continue to be worn and students will need to be able to sit comfortably physically distanced. We ask for some discretion with the level of gore and fright as our little ones can become scared at times. On this day, we will also host a costume parade, either outside or divisionally in the gym. A virtual pumpkin carving contest will be a highlight with various classroom activities based on the grade of the students.  Please do not send any treats or food items of any kind to school.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe while participating in some fun!

SEB Parking and Spirit Wear Reminders

Parking Lot:

Thank you to all our families who continue to avoid using our parking lot at busy drop off and pick up times. With fewer students riding buses right now, the congestion can be pretty heavy. We ask that you continue to use side streets and park nearby instead of coming right into our lot. This results in a safer environment for our students.

A tenant from a nearby apartment building on Dale Crescent did make us aware that some of our families are parking in their area, not leaving spots for residents. Kindly avoid this area too.

Spirit Wear:

A reminder, we continue to focus on building community at SEB with our Tuesday Spirit/Colour wear days. If interested in ordering any new spirit wear, please see link below. Deadline is Wednesday. All funds need to be sent directly to Pardon Promotions. Forms can be sent there directly or in paper form to the school.

Borrowed Chromebooks from SEB

October 2020

Dear Parent(s)Guardian(s):

We are reaching out today to families who borrowed Chromebooks to use with distance learning with their children back in March and April, and whose student has returned to face-to-face instruction.

Students are entitled to continue borrowing these Chromebooks, with the expectation that they are still being actively used for student learning both at home and at schools.

Many of Sir Edgar Bauer’s Chromebooks have been reassigned for home use. Therefore, we are requesting, if comfortable, that students in Grade 4-8 with Chromebooks on loan from our school bring their charged Chromebook to school daily to use in class. This will allow for further Chromebook use with all students.

Parents who no longer wish to borrow Chromebooks from the school or you have a Chromebook in need of repair, you are encouraged to return it to Sir Edgar Bauer with your child as soon as possible so that they can be re-deployed where needed.

Thank you for your help in ensuring that all of our students are given access to the technology they need for their learning.
