SEB December Updates:
Marillac Place: Thank you to all our generous families for supporting this giving initiative. Our We Team student group have been our champions in promoting this wonderful initiative. Our collection ends on Tuesday December 17th. If you are still considering sending in items, we are in need of pieces for a new born, a 3 month old girl, a 6 month old boy and a 5 year old girl. Either clothing or toys would be appropriate.
Christmas Fun: It is a very special time of year. The school is brimming with excitement. Below are a few dates you may want to remind your child about as the week will be a busy one.
Monday, Dec 16: Board Game Fun in the Afternoon
~All students are invited to bring their favorite board game to school. This was a reward that the students achieved through their Spook-A-Thon fundraising. It has been coordinated with our student leadership team.
Tuesday, Dec 17: Christmas Sweater/Colours Day
~All students are invited to wear their favourite Christmas Sweater and/or colours. Christmas accessories are also welcome. The more creative the better. Our student photography group will be out capturing pictures on our school cameras.
Wednesday, Dec 18 at 12:45: Christmas Concert Viewing for Families
~Parents are invited to come see our JK-Grade 3 students perform and to cheer them on with enthusiasm. The concert starts at 12:45 with doors opening at 12:30. Feel free to partake in our Bake Sale after the concert. Adults will be able to purchase items with proceeds going to our Catholic School Advisory Council.
Thursday, Dec 19: Student Viewing of Christmas Concert
Friday, Dec 20: School Wide Pajama and Movie Day

Join us for Christmas at St Michael Parish
Christmas is a time of year that brings many people home to be with their families and loved ones. I wish to offer a joyful welcome to each and every person who participates in the Masses during the Christmas season. I extend a special welcome to College and University students who are home for the holidays, to former parishioners who are returning for a friendly visit, to all out-of-town guests and relatives of parishioners, and to those who perhaps are making a return to the practice of their faith.
I sincerely pray that your experience of the parish family of St. Michael Parish may lead you to feel welcome and at home.
Together in the Lord’s Service.
Father F. Freitas, Pastor

As you may have heard, the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) has announced plans for a one-day strike on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
OSSTF does not represent any staff working in our elementary and secondary schools, therefore all Waterloo Catholic District School Board elementary and secondary schools will be open and running on their normal schedules tomorrow.
WCDSB teaching staff are represented by the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA), and negotiations with the province are still on-going. We are hopeful the two sides will reach a fair and respectful collective agreement.
However, OSSTF does represent some staff working at our St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres, and the one day strike will result in the following programs and services being CLOSED on December 4:
PLEASE NOTE: All other St. Louis programs will be running on normal schedules.
PD Day Reminder:
A reminder that this Friday, Dec 6th there is no school for students. This is a PD Day. There is also no extended day programming on this day.
