Hello SEB Stars!

The entire staff of SEB are hoping that everyone is remaining well. Our main goal as a school community is to make sure all are feeling healthy, managing our new reality and are filled with some sense of Hope.

I am sure you have heard the government announcement that our schools will remain closed until May 31st. We are missing our students greatly! We can’t wait to get back to school and reconnect with everyone.

We know you are connecting regularly with your classroom teachers, continuing to learn and do your best with your distance education. Please stay involved and reach out for support whenever needed.

We wanted to let you know about our upcoming SEB Theme Days. We have designated a day but take the week if needed. Whether we are in school or not we want to celebrate the following:

~Monday, May 4th: May the ‘Fourth’ be with you! Dress up as your favourite Star Wars character at home and show us your school spirit. Take a selfie and send it to your classroom teacher.~

~Monday, May 18th: Show your continued gratitude for our Essential and Health Care workers. Create any display demonstrating your appreciation, snap a photo and forward to your teacher. #Together

~Monday, June 1st: How are you keeping your Heart healthy? If in school, we will be preparing for Jump Rope for Heart. Take a picture of yourself showing how you keep yourself active. It could be something new you are trying or your already favourite activity/sport. Again, forward this pic to your classroom teacher.

~Monday, June 15th: Wacky Hair/Hat Day: Be as creative as you like with your pictures. The goal is to have some fun while showing your SEB Star Spirit!

These pictures will be compiled and may become a part of a newswire or tweet. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not forward or let you teacher know not to share.

We will also continue to focus on our Umbrella Project Skills. The month of May we ask our students to learn about and demonstrate ‘Optimism’ while June’s focus is ‘Lifestyle’. These are both very relevant skills in our current times. Teachers will be highlighting these in their classroom platforms and celebrating all our students who are doing their best to remain positive, learn, be active and optimistic. We congratulate all our SEB students for this.
